Tribeca in New York will get all dressed up and roll out the red carpet to welcome the 15th edition of the homonymous film festival.
From 13th to 24th April 2016, the southwest of Manhattan will host the TriBeCa Film Festival, the largest international independent film festival, which has now been going since 2002 and over the years it has grown both in importance and size.
It is an event dedicated to fans not only of the big screen but also of events in general. In recent weeks the cobblestoned streets – where many famous people like Robert De Niro have chosen to live – is even more lively and eventful than usual.
Concerts, shows, art galleries, shops, good restaurants and cafes offer visitors an uplifting atmosphere to spend the New York Spring in.
If you’re lucky you might even get the chance to meet some of the TriBeCa celebrity guests.
The brainchild of producer Jane Rosenthal, actor Robert De Niro and director Martin Scorsese, following the events of 11 September 2001, the TriBeCa Film Festival transforms a picturesque area of the Big Apple into a fun holiday and culture destination.
Over 100 films from around the world are projected both indoors and outdoors. Opening the event, this year will be ‘The First Monday in May’, a documentary that gets ‘behind the scenes’ of the MET Gala 2015, a charity event that starts off the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute fashion show every year.
