Bucharest: Ro-Wine, The Wine Festival of Romania

The curtains go up on the most important annual appointment for the wine industry in Romania.

On the 21st and 22nd of May 2016, Bucharest, capital of this Balkan state, hosts Ro-Wine, The Wine Festival of Romania: a unique opportunity for wine producers to establish new business relationships with local and international buyers, for HORECA operators and for consumers to learn about Romanian wine production at its finest.

The event, organized by the president of Ro-Wine Marinela Ardelean and by Liviu and Mihai Popescu, is held at the Fratelli Studios, the Popescu brothers’ architecture and design studio in Strada Glodeni, Bucharest.

Helmut Koecher is the ambassador of the 2016 edition of Ro-Wine. He is a founder of the “Merano Wine Festival”, now in its 25th year, and the European Gourmet Academy that runs courses aimed at training experts for the food, restaurant and wine industry.

Ro-Wine will host 50 top wine producers (including 20 from outside Romania) in a designer setting; each stand having its own unique layout.

Foss Marai will be present at the event, bringing onto the scene the finest sparkling wines found in Italy and worldwide.

Each attending producer can present a maximum of five labels, but only one will be selected by a panel of experts for exhibition during the course of the festival, ensuring the excellence and prestige of the Ro-Wine event.

During the exhibition, all the producers will see their wines awarded a medal: gold, silver or bronze. The producers who have received top awards will be given the opportunity to present their wines at wine tastings and events organized at the most exclusive restaurants in Bucharest.

During the festival there will be numerous workshops held by HORECA representatives.
